Pearl Lyn Balukoff has arrived!
She was born April 30, 2013 at 12:02pm
She weighed 7lb 12oz and was 19 3/4" long
Pearl was born with a set of lungs! She cried for the first half hour after she was born, Sam and I just kind of looked at each other not knowing what to do. I know Lilly isn't that old, but we had totally forgotten what to do with a newborn! Sam finally gave her a couple drinks of formula and she went right to sleep.
Her fingernails were so long that she scratched herself within an hour of being born. I had Sam bring me a nail file and I filed them down the next day.
Proud Papa!
The hospital had a ban on children under 5 being in the mother/baby unit because of RSV so Grace and Lilly weren't allowed to come in and see the baby. This was really hard, especially on Lilly because she couldn't understand why she couldn't see the baby and why I couldn't come home.
So I went out and saw them in the waiting room the first night, and then the next day I went down to the cafeteria and had lunch with them.
After lunch I got Pearl out of the nursery and let the girls see her through the waiting room door. They couldn't look for very long though because Pearl had a sensor on her foot and I kept getting her too close to the door and setting off the alarm! It would lock all the doors and shut down the elevator. Woops!
Grace looking through the door and Lilly trying to get in.
Susie flew in the evening of the 30th. It has been so nice to have her here taking care of everyone!
Proud Grandma!
Sam and the girls got me flowers. It made my day! I really thought it was the sweetest thing ever!
I have this awesome friend Liz. She had a baby a couple weeks before me, and she came to visit me in the hospital and made Pearl this adorable hat!
Big yawn for a little girl!
My sweet Pearl Lyn.
