Grace's Dance Recital

 Last night was Grace's first dance recital.  She has been nervous about it for months, and the last few weeks at dance class she would get so scared just thinking about performing that she would start crying and wouldn't even practice the dance.  At the last practice one of her teachers, Miss Vickie, stood with Grace and that way Grace actually made it the whole way through the dance. She was crying the whole time, but she made it!
The day of the recital Grace would tell us all day long that she was NOT going to the recital.  She was excited to get her hair done and put make-up on and her costume, but I could tell the she was really nervous.

Once we got to the auditorium and I got Grace ready I left her in the care of Alyssa's mom, Angela, because I knew if I was with her she would cling to me and never go on stage.

At one point Angela looked at Grace and she just had tears running down her face, so Angela called in reinforcements....Miss Vickie!

Miss Vickie gave Grace a pep talk, and calmed her down a little bit.

 Miss Vickie went on stage with Grace and did the whole dance with her.  Grace didn't cry at all while she was out there and actually danced better than she ever had in rehearsals! If you want to see the video of her dancing click HERE

After the performance Grace was so proud of herself!  She even says she want to keep doing dance and do another recital next year!!!  We are so proud of our little ballerina!
