While we were in Chicago Sam turned 31. I left his gifts at home (I framed his college diplomas) so I wanted to come up with a way to make the day special for him.
All it took was a stop at Walgreens to buy some snacks and a tee shirt for a gift and a dozen balloons!
I didn't actually think about walking all the way back to our hotel with them...it was an adventure!
walking with a dozen helium filled balloons in the windy city isn't always the best idea!
For dinner we went to Fogo de Choa with Gordy and Brielle, and Nate Gladwell. A really good friend from Minnesota, He was only in town for the one night so we were so excited to meet up with him!
We sang happy birthday to Sam when they brought out his dessert. He was so embarrassed. He hates that much attention! I thought it was hilarious and apparently so did Gordy because he took these pictures of it!
When we fly home on Friday I had worked out with Kirsten to have a surprise party ready for Sam. They girls were waiting in the kitchen and they had balloons and streamers everywhere! They were so excited to surprise him! I got a couple pictures of them running to him when he walked in the door!
Happy Birthday Sam! We love you so much!
