Cheap mom trick

I learned about Cheap Mom Tricks a while ago from a friends blog, but I don't use them enough. I've decided to turn over a new leaf and get more creative in entertaining Grace. Although we have been going out a lot more to the library, children's museum, YMCA...I still feel like we both get a little bored out of our gored hanging out at home to long. Well that's not true. I have plenty of things to do at home, but Grace getting bored makes it really hard for me to do anything, so then we are bored together.
Anyways, here's what we did this morning after breakfast and before she put on her clothes for the day. I had her take off her pj's (no sense it getting them all soaking wet.) and play in some dishsoapy water. She loved it for a good 30 min. Which is awesome for a 2 year old if you didn't know. I gave her a bunch of odds and ends to play in it with, but her favorite was this straw. She would blow up huge bubbles, and loved it.

This really was a win-win for both of us. She got to play, I got to get ready for the day, and even better she did not like it when the floor got wet, so I gave her a towel and she would wipe it up...so my floor is now a little cleaner and my daughter a little happier.

What a great idea! We get bored here too. I can't wait for warmth so we can just play side already.

If Mom's got gold stickers, you would have earned one in my book! Thanks for the blog link!

You're so creative, Alisha! What is the website for cheap mom tricks? We could use a few tricks around here to keep the mister entertained, rather than his usual trick of driving his trucks on Jane's head.
