Hand Foot & Mouth Disease

Poor Lilly. she has Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. It started 2 days ago and she had a fever of 103, but it quickly came down with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. She also had a tooth coming in (which broke last night! Hurray for another tooth!) so I thought all of her symptoms were from that. I even thought her rash were some form of fever blisters from having such a high fever. And the rash around her mouth I assumed was from her sucking on her binky all day. She normally only gets it when she sleeps, but she wouldn't let it out of her sight, and I knew she was in pain, so I didn't fight her.
So it wasn't until today that I noticed her red bumpy rash was getting worse and spreading onto her hands and feet that I freaked out and took her straight into the doctor. Sadly there isn't anything to do to cure the disease. It's a virus and it just has to run it's course, but the doctor. did prescribe Lilly "magic mouthwash" that numbs all the blisters in her mouth and down her throat. (I feel so bad for her!) The doctor said the first 3 days are the worst...and since we are already on day 3 I hope it's down hill from there...I also have my fingers crossed that Grace doesn't catch it.
I don't understand how she is smiling. The blisters are even in her nose now. But considering how uncomfortable she has to be she really has been amazing through this.

Some blisters on her foot.

I love this poor sick girl!
