I learned everything I know from a book called
On Becoming Babywise.
It totally works. It answered all of my questions I ever had with Gracie, and got us on the right track. It teaches how to combine the two methods of feeding (when baby says she's hungry, and strict feeding times) together which helps your baby sleep. But Gracie also was able to sleep through the night so early because I didn't breastfeed her. If you breastfeed you will still have to do one feeding during the night, until they are ok without it, and you can keep up your milk supply.
I also burrito wrapped her, meaning I swaddled her really tight, and still do, but now she is learning to undo it, so I'm going to have to start not doing that any more, and I've been told that she just has to cry it out for a couple nights, and then she'll get the hang of it.
So good luck, and get the book because I promise it works.

That's a great book! I'm so glad Babywise worked for you and Gracie!! I totally wish it could have worked for us. I really wanted it to and honestly, we tried every single thing it said to do in there and it never worked..sad day I know. :( You're giving me extra hope for baby #2 to give it a try again though with him. I hope it works this time!! haha.
You are lucky that Gracie sleeps through the night. None of my boys slept through the night until after they were over a year old (almost 2 for Trevor). That made for a long couple of years when Trevor and Danny were young. Your baby is so pretty, she has the most beautiful eyes.
Thanks for the tips
Yay for blogs! I am so excited to keep in touch...
WOW - I LOVE the new picture on your side bar. That is beautiful!
And seriously - you must be doing a great job if Gracie has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 weeks old! We still have small children ending up in bed with us almost on a nightly basis. Usually we will wake up in the morning and realize that they are there(the girls), they are so quiet about it. But come on, they are about to be 3 and 4 years old!
so I am totally reading that book now and reese is already only getting up once in the night and she is only 3 weeks old!!!
I love that book. Logan was sleeping 8 hours while only being a couple weeks old. Then I think he jumped to 12 hours by 3 months. Thank goodness I found out about that book.
